CLIMBERS COMMUNITY FORUM SERIES:

NOVEMBER 10, 6:30PM (ZOOM)

DECEMBER 9

JANUARY 13

Historically, climbing has been a self-regulated activity. Informal norms, decided by local climbing communities, have generally guided climbing ethics, styles, crag behavior and route development. However, with climbing's growing popularity and looming regulation in the Missoula-Bitterroot

area, it seems like a good idea to define and formalize our community norms and values.

Three University of Montana students have diligently worked to set up a series of forums so we can listen to what you all have to say. With a climbing management plan still being created by the Bitterroot National Forest, it’s more important than ever for WMTCC to fully gauge the community’s beliefs, values and future expectations.

The first meeting, on Wednesday, Nov. 10, will be online, but we’re hoping to hold the next two meetings – Dec. 9 and Jan. 13 – in person. If you have questions about the event, reach out to Kika Bradford on Facebook and @bradfordkika on Instagram. You can also ask the coalition at info@wmtcc.org

We hope to see you at the first meeting at 6:30 p.m. Join us online on Zoom here:

WESTERN MONTANA CLIMBERS COALITION

WHO WE ARE

We're a nonprofit founded to support continued access to climbing areas, safe and environmentally conscientious development of new sites, climbing for climbers of all abilities, and continued development of opportunities for young climbers. We have forged an alliance with the Access Fund, and we, with land managers, will be a voice for the climbing community . We'll also have a little fun sponsoring events, trail days, and social opportunities for climbers across Western Montana.
